After graduating from Nottingham University, Simon spent a 15-year career with BP working in their Petrochemical and Marketing businesses. In 2008 Simon joined startup Vivergo Fuels, a £400m BP-ABF biofuels joint venture, as their first employee. While at Vivergo, Simon held responsibility for building the business processes and IT infrastructure from scratch, before moving into process optimisation and troubleshooting across the whole company, working in Finance, Commercial and Operations.
A Chartered Chemical Engineer, Simon has experience in the management and operation of both batch and continuous processes. He has deep experience troubleshooting large scale industrial processes in the petrochemical and biofuels areas, as well as experience designing and developing smaller scale novel processes for clients in academia and research.
Simon is also an experienced Process Control Engineer, and is familiar with Honeywell TPS and Emerson DeltaV technologies. He has also spent time managing and configuring a number of process historians, most recently Matrikon, and linking these to business systems such as Microsoft Dynamics Ax.
